Q. Does my government/ employer have to pay for my training?
A. No. The training fee, living and boarding allowances are paid by Indian government under the International Technical Co-operation program.
Q. If unfortunately, my name is not approved through my government for training under ITEC/SCAAP in India, then what is the way to join the training at C-DAC, Mohali?
A. Yes, you can still fulfill your ambition of training. You need to be either supported by your present employer for the total expenditure or you have to bear the same yourself. Of course this is subject to fulfilling all diplomatic requirements.
Q. Do I need sponsorship and leave from my organization?
A. Yes. The organization would sponsor your application to your country's technical board/embassy who would further forward it to the Indian High Commission/Embassy in your country.
Q. Who will arrange/bear the cost of my Airfare?
A. The Indian embassy in your country would give you return air tickets.
Q. What is the medium of instruction?
A ENGLISH language will be used for the lectures and instructions.
Q. Can I bring my family along?
A. The Indian government only sponsors technical candidate working with a government/reputed private organization and it is experienced that bringing of any family member creates hindrance in the process of training. Therefore, it is not permitted. However, under very exceptional circumstances, if at all any family member does accompany the participant with prior approval of MEA, GOI, then you will have to bear the total expenses of your family.
Q. How can I reach C-DAC ?
A. By Air : New Delhi , Airport is the nearest international airport. New Delhi international airport is connected to the Chandigarh airport by domestic flights of Air India, Jet Airways, Jagson Airlines, and Kingfisher Airlines. There are daily flights connecting New Delhi and Mumbai to Chandigarh. Chandigarh is going to be International Airport in near future.
By Train : 3- hour journey from New Delhi Railway Station to Chandigarh by Shatabdi Express train ,which runs twice a day (fully air-conditioned chair car).The departure time of these trains,from New Delhi ,are 7:40 a.m and 5:15 p.m.
By Road : 5-hour journey by Deluxe Bus from New Delhi ISBT (Inter State Bus Terminus) to Chandigarh Bus Stand.
After reaching Chandigarh one may hire a taxi or a three - wheeler to reach C-DAC, MOHALI (near Punjab Communication Limited / Semiconductor Complex Limited )

Q. Where do I get the sponsorship/application forms?
A. Normally the Indian Embassy in your country forwards the course information to your embassy/technical board. Your country's embassy/technical board has the sponsorship form. Presently the application for training in any course under ITEC/SCAAP is available with mission
