Bharat Operating System Solutions
BOSS (Bharat Operating System Solutions) GNU/Linux distribution developed by C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) derived from Debian for enhancing the use of Free/ Open Source Software throughout India. The Beta Release of BOSS GNU/Linux Version 4.0 is coupled with GNOME Desktop Environment with wide Indian language support & packages, relevant for use in the Government domain.
Digital Electronics & Communication Division
This division executes R & D in the area of Communication, digital electronics, microcontroller, mobile technologies sensor and RF based system and embedded technology.
Manufacturing Technology Division
The division works towards the development of technology and products for printed circuit Boards (PCB's).It can develop up to four layer PCB's with Conductor width of 180 micron. It has rendered its services for PCB designing and prototype manufacturing to industry, internal users of other R & D divisions and students for product development design and packaging
Academics & Consultancy Services Division
Growing demand for skilled IT manpower and an uprising trend in business process outsourcing were the key factors that lead to the formation of Academic and Consultancy Services Division (ACSD) at C-DAC Mohali. The prime objective of Academic and Consultancy Services Division is to create indulgence and distribute the knowledge and expertise at C-DAC, Mohali by educational and consultative engagements. The Division comprises of two verticals Academic Cell and Consultancy Cell.
