Sanjeevani is a multi-specialty software solution that follows a hybrid model that integrates both Store and Forward and Videoconferencing telemedicine technologies. It enables quick and easy creation of electronic telemedicine referrals that include digital images and patient information. It is developed using modern database software and provides a secure system that allows healthcare professionals to collect medical & demographic data and communicate it to other remote clinicians.

Sanjeevani is a desktop – based application and is designed to facilitate doctor –to- doctor consultation with the provision of real time patient visualisation using integrated video conference application for tele-consultation purposes. It’s easy-to-use GUI (Graphical User Interface) enables the medical practitioners to explore the application with the basic level of training.

GUI - Sanjeevani supports GUI, which makes the application easy to use and interactive. Graphical user interfaces can be described as what you see is what you get (WYSIWYG) that allow end users to interact with applications in a more or less intuitive manner. With WYSIWYG, you get an immediate visual feedback of what you have done and you can decide if this is really what you intended to do.
EMR - A comprehensive Electronic Medical Record with demographics such as Name, Age, Gender, Address etc. The database of a patient stores the physiological parameters like BP, Heart rate, and Temperature etc. It stores, Family History, Personal history of the patient. The Patient’s record can be sorted with respect to the patient ID, name, gender and date.
Clinical Reports - Sanjeevani supports the transmission of the pathological reports like Urine, Stool, Hematology, Pathology Slides and Biochemistry.
Scanner/Digital camera interface - Sanjeevani offers an interface for standard TWAIN sources like Scanners, Digital camera (Video/still). The module enables direct capture of images from scanners and cameras supporting TWAIN.
ECG - Sanjeevani can capture, display and store ECG for patients.
Medical Images - Digitized films/outputs from imaging modalities like X-Ray machine, Ultrasound scanner, CT scan, MRI can be displayed, archived and retrieved in jpg, and DICOM formats.
Image Enhancer - The non-DICOM digitized images can be viewed and enhanced by the user for their brightness, contrast, zoom, region of interest annotation etc, to enhance the images captured or received from the far end.
DICOM Support - Sanjeevani supports The Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM). It is a standard set of rules that allows exchange of images and associated information between imaging machines, computers & hospitals.
Communications – Sanjeevani uses socket programming for transferring data from one PC to another PC provided they are connected by same means to either LAN or WAN (ISDN, POTS, VSAT etc).
Store and forward - is used for transferring digital images from one location to another. A digital image is taken using a digital camera, ('stored') and then sent ('forwarded') by computer to another location. This is typically used for non-emergent situations, when a diagnosis or consultation may be made in the next 24 - 48 hours and sent back. The image may be transferred within a building, between two buildings in the same city, or from one location to another anywhere in the world.
Video Conferencing - Sanjeevani supports Video conferencing. Video conferencing uses compressed digital images transmitted over wide area networks or the Internet. Sanjeevani also support standard MS Net-meeting.
Case Summary and Report Generation - Every EPR consists of the patient's case summary i.e. the previous opinions of the specialists, the date and time on which the opinion has been sent by the specialist and also the specialist's name. Reporting is the very essential part of every software. This is the feature in which soft copies generated by the software have to be printed in form of hard copies. The process includes generation of required data from the back end (database) and to print it on the paper through printer.
Consultation Summary - Consultation Summary is a common pool of all the consultations. It shows all the consultations done including the Patient's ID, Sending Date, Sending Doctor's name, Receiving Doctor's name, Receiving Hospital's name, Data set list, Summary and Opinion.
Presentation - User can upload and download the presentations and videos in particular format using Presentation module.
Help - Users are provided with the help in case they find any difficulty in using the application.
Online Store and Forward - When both the sender and receiver is active, Sanjeevani can send and receive online patient data.
Secured Environment - Secured Environment through Encryption and VPN (Virtual Private Networks).

This module enables acquisition of ECG (12-Lead) of a patient and transfers it to the referring doctor.Leads carrying ECG signal from patients body are connected to an ECG recorder. It Facilitates transmission of ecg specific information about the patient like ecg name,report etc.
Pathology is the study of disease processes with the aim of understanding their nature and causes. It consists of reports such as Haematology,Urine,Stool, Biochemistry and Scan Report .
It consists of various images such as X-RAY, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and Pathlogy Slides.Sanjeevani imaging module enables digitized radiographic images to be converted from general purpose image file formats like .tiff,.jpg,.gif into a .dcm (DICOM) format.This module offers a low cost solution for acquiring images in DICOM format.This is also useful in cases where the source of radiographic image is a celluloid film or a non-DICOM modality.Image module converts any raw data from a twain compatible device,into the DICOM format. The imaging module enables the doctors to annotate data on doctors and also mark region of interest, enhance image’s readability by zooming in/out, increase contrast, brightness, etc. using the image enhancer.
It enables diagnosis and treatment of Skin, Nail, Hair and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.It provides the Facilitates transmission of Derma specific information and Images for further consultation.It supports multiple Image type to stored.
It Enables diagnosis of Kidney disease and follow- up of renal transplant patients.It provides consultative and follow- up care for patients with all types of kidney diseases. It supports Hybrid model-store and forward and real time Communication Technology. Report Generation (Transplant, Surgery, Discharge and Follow up) of Recipient and Donor.
Ophthalmology module would record the reports of patients regarding the diseases and surgery of the visual pathways i.e. eye, eyelids etc. Ophthalmology module consists of Worksheet, Spectacles Prescription, History, Cataract Botheration, Daily Report, Functional Impairment and Ophthalmology Images. Tests will be incorporated in the Ophthalmology module for a complete assessment of the vision problem.
Pulmonary deals with the biopsy information of the patient. Pulmonary module consists of Biopsy, Spirometry Requisition, Pulmonary Routine Report, Pulmonary Special Report, and Fiberoptic Bronchoscope Report.
